Redwall: The Elephant

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The date is April 2nd. It was spring, And outside from Redwall an Otter went out to collect some berries with her friends a Hedgehog and Mole. after nearly a half hour of picking the most fresh and ripe berrie, They hear something.
"Did you hear that?", asked the otter.
"Hear what?", asked the mole.
The otter heard a vibrant marching sound, And it was coming closer and straight by their path.
"We better hide!", The otter proclaimed.
And so as our trio hide in the bushes, the mole, still curious climbs up on a rock while still hidden by the forest vegetation away from the sigh of whoever was coming.
They were strange creatures, like none of them had ever met before. They were hairy like they were but they lacked furry snouts and whishkers for the facial areas around their eyes, noses, and mouths even as some have their faces hidden under what they wear. Their paws were also more posable and so to were their feet, like a bird's but different. Their tails were also prehensile and they wore a garnet of bright and colorful wearings. A dormant of reds and blue, with flickers of green and yellow, all in fine cotton mixed with fine weaving and decorated with gold, bronze, and silver.
And while many walked armed with spears and lances, others rode on horseback armed with axes and blades also wore a light mix and chain and silk with bright tin helms decorated with beads and clothe while their herbivores mounts wear pads of weaving and light wood as their own head gear.
As this mysterious parade of cultural daze march on , the otter spoke in dismay...
"Oh dear!" She said
"That's the army of Harraie the Magnificent, King of the Simian Empire! One of the neighboring owls told me once about them." As our lead female explains.
"They're called Monkeys. Jungle animals that came from the far south and east."
But this only brought more confusion to others. "The Jungle, South, East?" The mole asks; "H...How did they even come here?"
To which the otter replies; "I don't know for certain."
Just as they were about to leave to tell the others, another creature came along. It was a monsterous animal standing almost as tall as the abby itself. Walking on all fours like the horses but carrying more than one rider as it was mounted with a tall, box-shaped platform like a tower almost. It had a long nose, big ears, a pair of tusks jutting out like boar but straighter and curvier, And it was almost naked of any hair for it sported a thick furless hide of rinkly skin like a dragon but without scales. Than it dawned on all of them. Especially The Hedgehog with pure delight and excitement.
"Oh Heavens!" He gleed; "Elephant!, It's an elephant!" Back in the days when Matthias himself was a proud father to young Mattimeo, Basil Stag Hare oftten told him tales of many big animals from deer to bears, and his most favorite storie was a poem about the great beasts called elephants.
"Grey like a mouse, Big as a house"
"A Nose long as a snake, I make the Earth Shake"
"With my four round feet for fresh leaves and fruits to eat"
"As I walk through the grass, The trees crack as I pass"
"And with two long tusks in from my mouth, I roam wild in the south"
"While flapping my big ears beyond many count of years"
"I stomp round and round but never lie on the ground."
"Not even to die, And I trumpet what am I."...
"Elephant!
"Biggest of all, Huge, Strong, and Tall."
"If ever you met me, You wouldn't forget me."
"If you never do than you think that I'm true.
"But Old Elephant am I, and I never Lie."
And as he got older his fasination grew with him, as others have also told tales of bigger folk traveling south and back who said that they ride on elephants. And when they go traveling in those distant lands they do the exact same thing harraie's monkey army are sometimes said to do. The tall folk, Looking a bit like monkey's more hairless with pointier noses would put small but still fairly large houses like towers on their backs to ride in  from above and the great beasts themselves would their long noses to pick up and throw trees and rocks at the other animals like lions and wolves when threatened. And out from those same snouts would come a loud trumpet like battle horn. signaling might and legacy.
So for The happy Hedgehod to see one for himself was a childhood dream finally come true.
"I can't wait to tell Basil and the others!" He Gloated; "Yes!" answered the otter; "We best get back to the abby as soon as possible, The presence of Harraie the Magnificent must be carried out.
Okay dudes and dudettes for those who are wondering yes this was based off Frodo and Sam's encounter with the Haradrim and the Mumakil/ Oliphaunts from The Lord of the Rings: the Two Towers.
Now this I was worried about doing because either was plagurism or it just wouldn't fit in the redwall continuity but I didn't just wanna make something like this and make up king harraie cause some of us wanna see monkeys, horses, and elephants.
I'm trying to make my OC's as 3-dimensional as I could. But if anybody has any ideas for a new story or a re-written one please note me and I'll try to make everything fit.
Note these characters do not have names so I'm not trying to steal anyone' creations.
