Justice League Internatinoal DreamCast

You know recent stand-alone, Direct-to-DVD, DC animated films that are geared to younger audiences like, JLA Adventures: Trapped in Time, or the recent Batman Unlimited: Animal Instincts? Well you know what I think would make another movie that would be really cool? An animated film based on Justice League International! Since the mainstream DC animated movie line is fixated now on making everything "Dark and Gritty", especially since the most recent of them are based on the New 52, I think one way of adapting a classic comic book series like Justice League International would be to make it into it's own thing like, JLA Adventures or Batman Unlimited.

I have not yet finished the cast but here are my select choices:

1. Troy Baker as Batman - Dude played the character before in the lego games, so I think he can pull off a more stern and not make it as gimmicky as the former. (Ironic since he also played the Joker) In fact, in retrospect, Troy has played more comic book characters than Chris Evens.

2. Patrick Seitz as Green Lantern, Guy Gardner - Now I loved both, James Arnold Taylor's take in Batman: Brave and the Bold, and Deidrich Bader's in the Green Lantern animated series, but perhaps one voice over artist who I want to hear taking a shot at this laid back, rough housing, charismatic dude is Patrick Seitz. He's played rough and tumble guys like Germany in Hetalia, and I would love to hear him more in Western Animation, doing original voice overs orchestrated by Andrea Romano or Jamie Thompson. It's done wonders for Steve Blum in the past 12 years, so might as well recruit this guy to.

3. Crispen Freeman as Booster Gold: I loved Crispen's voices as Electro in the Spectacular Spider-Man, and as Roy Harper/Red Arow in Young Justice; granted he's not as renown in the Non-Anime department as Steve Blum or Cam Clarke, but he's had some good roles there non the less. And one other comic book character who I'd like to hear him play as, is Booster Gold. I don't know why though, but there's something about Crispen that seems like he'd be great for the pick, the character is a charismatic yet over the top action hero who pretty much speaks for the readers in whatever story he's in, and Crispen might have play the right tone and attitude for him.

4. Kari Wahlgren as Fire: Ok, I gotta be honest, I don't like Kari Wahlgren-- I LOVE Kari Wahlgren, she is the female Steve Blum or Yuri Lowenthal, she has a wide range of voice overs plus she's gorgeous, right along Tara Strong, Grey Delisle and Jennifer Hale. If I had to pick an analogous voice over for her take on Fire, it would be Amora the Enchantress from Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Just take that voice, make her sound less evil and give her a Brazilian accent.

5. Laura Bailey as Ice: Much like her colleague Troy Baker, Laura Bailey is still kind'a new in the field of Pre-Lay voice overs in American animation since she too moved from ADR projects for Funimation back in Texas a few years back. She hasn't played as many comic book characters as Troy, but for most people who know her in the non-anime department, you might recognize her as Black Widow and Avengers Assemble... Which is a show that I do not really like at all... But aside from that she's also played as Dawnstar in JLA Adventures, Cheetah in Batman Unlimited, Firestar in the SuperHero Squad Show, Lagoona in the Monster High series, and Chun-Li in Street Fighter for all you gamers out there. I wouldn't mind at all hearing her take a shot at another comic book character, and having her voice Ice would make a good pairing for Kari Wahlgren's Fire. (And I hope she can use a Scandinavian accent like Jennifer Hale did in Batman: Brave and the Bold)

6. George Newbern as Mister Miracle: What can I say, George Newbern is Superman, no doubt; he pulled off as a perfect substitute for Tim Daily when he was not available for Justice League Unlimited. Now imagine if you take his Superman voice, and make it sound more fun and energetic, then you get Mister Miracle.

7. Vanessa Marshall as Big Barda: A super heroine who puts the "Strong" in Strong female characters, Big Barda is both a courageous warrior amongst the New Gods, and a loving wife for Mister Miracle; and who better to voice her than Vanessa Marshall. She's played stern and competent female characters before, namely Black Widow in EMH, and she even played Wonder Woman on several occasions, so she pretty much has got the right voice for this character already.

I have not finished the casting yet, still got more characters, and I have yet to put up whatever analogies for the actors to use for their respective roles. In the mean time though, be sure to share your thoughts, and even feel free to share your ideas for an ideal cast as well as the future cast later on.
