Grents, are what I refer to as the monsters, Grendel and his mother from the story of Beowulf.
I thought that if, orcs derived from the name "Ornceas" then maybe I should make a name for another monster.
The interpretation you see here is somewhat based off a cover for the novel "Grendel" by John Garder (A very depressing book on philosophy and Grend as the main character) Making him and his mother look somewhat human while retaining animal like quality.

I remember doing a report on Beowulf a few years ago- I was asked whether to consider Grendel's mother as either a mindless beast or a more calculating villain. I described her as the latter considering the lengths she went to in luring Beowulf to his end..
